Manifesto

Not just heard, but felt.

There is sound you hear and there is sound you feel. A voice you recognise instantly. A melody that stays in your head for days. A few notes that take you back to a moment years ago. Sound can move you, surprise you, touch you or give you goosebumps. Sometimes without you quite knowing why.

That is the power of sound. It does something to you. It gives meaning to images, brings stories to life and makes brands recognisable. What you hear shapes what you feel. And what you feel often decides what you remember.

01

It starts with listening

At TFA we believe good sound never happens by chance. Behind every voice, every composition and every sound lies a deliberate choice. An intention. A story that needs to be told and a feeling we want to convey.

That is why we don't start with the microphone, the music or the technology. We start by listening. To the story, to the people it is meant for and to what it needs to achieve. Only once we understand what a story has to convey do we decide how it should sound.

That may sound obvious. Yet sound is still too often treated as something you only add at the end of a production. A bit of music under the pictures. A voice over the text. A sound effect to finish things off. When in fact it is sound that can make the difference between a message that passes by and a story that stays with you.

We want to make that difference.

02

Makers who feel the story

We do that with people who master their craft. Makers who are not only technically skilled, but also sense what a story needs. People who dare to experiment, challenge each other and keep listening critically. Who know when a voice strikes exactly the right chord, when music adds something and when silence might just be the best choice.

We believe in collaboration without unnecessary distance between client and maker. The best ideas come about when people with different talents create something together. When there is room to ask questions, explore ideas and sometimes suggest a different direction than the one planned at the outset.

03

Technology and craftsmanship

Technology plays an ever greater role in this. Artificial intelligence (AI) and new production techniques make things possible that were unthinkable only a few years ago. We can work faster, produce more variations and explore creative possibilities that used to be out of reach.

We embrace that development. Not because technology is the answer to everything, but because it helps us find better answers.

Because being able to imitate a voice is not the same as telling a story convincingly. Being able to make music is not the same as evoking the right emotion. And being able to produce thousands of variations is of little value if none of them truly connects.

Technology expands our possibilities. Human creativity, experience and critical listening decide what we do with them.

04

Sound that builds recognition

That applies to everything we make. From a recognisable sonic identity for a company or brand to a commercial that has to convince in a few seconds. From music that brings a film to life to a narrated story that strikes exactly the right tone. From a podcast that holds you from start to finish to an advertising campaign that has to stay recognisable across different channels.

In doing so, we look beyond the individual production. Because strong sound doesn't only work in the moment you hear it. It builds recognition and strengthens a brand's identity. It makes different touchpoints feel like one whole and lets people recognise a brand before its name has even been mentioned.

05

The real value

That is where, for us, the real value of sound lies.

Not in how much we produce. Not in how impressive our equipment is. And not in how much technology we can deploy. The value lies in what our work brings about in the people it is meant for.

That is why we want to be more than a company that produces sound. We want to be the creative partner that thinks along about how a brand sounds, how a story lands and what feeling it leaves behind.

Sometimes that means we make exactly what was asked for. Sometimes it means we let you hear a better alternative. And sometimes it means we first ask a question nobody has asked yet.

Because we believe good sound doesn't start with producing, but with understanding.

06

What we stand for

In the end, our work is about something deeply human. We want to make people feel something. Recognise something. Experience something they won't easily forget.

Because anyone can make sound. But making sound that truly means something takes more.

It takes attention, imagination, craftsmanship and the conviction that every story deserves to sound good.

That is what we stand for. That is what drives us. And that is what we want to live up to every day.

TFA.

We don't just make sound. We make sound that means something.

Not just heard, but felt.
