Audio post-productie en sound design

What is ADR?

Short answer

ADR stands for Automated Dialogue Replacement. An actor re-records lines in the studio, precisely in sync with the picture.

ADR stands for Automated Dialogue Replacement. An actor re-records lines in the studio, precisely in sync with the picture. This is necessary when the production sound is unusable (because of wind, traffic or a faulty microphone) or when a line needs to change afterward. The new audio has to blend seamlessly with the rest, in emotion and in acoustics. For the film Bad Slippers, we recorded ADR in our studios in Amsterdam. Read about Bad Slippers.
