Sonic branding

What is the difference between a sonic logo and a jingle?

Short answer

A sonic logo is a short sound of a few seconds without lyrics. A jingle is longer, often sung and mentions the brand name.

A sonic logo is a short sound of a few seconds, usually without lyrics, designed as a permanent brand signature. A jingle is a short piece of music, often with sung lyrics that include the brand name, which runs longer and carries a message. A jingle can change from campaign to campaign; a sonic logo usually stays the same for years. Many brands use both: the jingle tells the story, the sonic logo signs off.
